Embark on a journey of wonder as, for the first time, Beaulieu’s Mill Pond Walk becomes home to an all-new Fairy and Dragon willow sculpture trail from 18th May to 30th June.

This new feature will delight visitors of all ages with its magical blend of fantasy and artistry.

Hidden away within the picturesque riverside grounds and gardens of the historic Montagu family home, Palace House, the Mill Pond Walk provides stunning views over the water into Beaulieu Village and gives an alternative, nature-filled walk past ancient oak trees and thick reed beds around the Beaulieu Attraction.

The new Fairy and Dragon Trail brings this tranquil meandering path to life, as visitors can enjoy the scenic views while exploring a fantastical world where fairies flit among the trees, dragons soar through the skies and mythical creatures hide in the hedges.

Each intricately woven willow sculpture tells a unique story, so as well as the fairies and dragons, make sure you keep a good look out for wonderful woodland foxes, owls, squirrels, and deer as well as enchanted unicorns and even mischievous boggarts peeking out from behind the foliage. Get ready to embark on an adventure together and let imaginations take flight.

Jon Tee, Head of Visitor Experience, said “We are thrilled to introduce the Fairy and Dragon Trail to our guests. This trail is a testament to our commitment of providing visitors with enchanting and immersive experiences, and we are looking forward to inviting guests of all ages to embark on an adventure that sparks the imagination and leaves a lasting sense of wonder.”

To complement the trail younger visitors will be able to enjoy completing an ‘Enchanted Activity Book’ available to purchase upon arrival at Beaulieu. Inside are activities to complete from colouring to word searches and picture sudoku, and at the end of the trail visitors are invited to tie a ribbon to the magical wishing tree and make a special wish.

The trail will start at the Palace House entrance to the Mill Pond Walk. Visitors will be given a free map when they arrive giving locations of where a fairy or woodland creature has recently been spotted, leading them around the enchanting walk so they can be sure to spot them all.

Spring is the perfect time to lose yourself around Beaulieu’s serene grounds and gardens, with more than the Mill Pond walk to wander through. The Wilderness Garden perfectly complements the beauty of Palace House, while the Victorian Flower Garden is crammed with colourful flowers and sweet-smelling roses. Plus, take a gentle stroll through to the Victorian Kitchen Garden which supplies seasonal fruit, vegetables, and flowers to Palace House.

This first of its kind trail at Beaulieu will be a highlight of the May half-term break that visitors won’t want to miss. There has never been a better time to bring the whole family along to explore everything the Beaulieu attraction has to offer, including all the extra half-term activities from 25th May – 2nd June.

The Fairy and Dragon Trail is included in a general admission ticket to Beaulieu, which also includes entry to the National Motor Museum, adventure play area Little Beaulieu, World of Top Gear, On Screen Cars, the ancestral Montagu home Palace House, Secret Army exhibition, and 13th century Beaulieu Abbey.
