An impressive 14,000 showgoers attended the 30th Beaulieu Spring Autojumble on 16th and 17th May, with numbers rising significantly on last year and highlighting the growing resurgence of autojumbles and vintage markets.

Attendees enjoyed a vibrant weekend exploring stands offering everything imaginable for fans of motoring. Adding to the excitement was the introduction of the new Vintage Market, a dedicated area for sellers of vintage treasures, complete with live music. Meanwhile, the debut of the Classic Car Park display brought even more automotive charm to the event.

Petrol-head enthusiasts hunted for rare and hard-to-find spare parts, while exhibitors shared their expert knowledge and advice. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as old friends reunited, struck deals and snapped up bargains.

Among those exhibitors were Tony and Colin on stand 323A, who were presented the Best Stand Award for their eye-catching display of vintage autojumble. The long-standing autojumblers drove up in their 41-year-old Mitsubishi L300 van, which carried all their stock and doubled as their overnight accommodation. This annual award celebrates the stand that best reflects the spirit of the Autojumble.

Best Stand Winner

The trophy was presented by Lord Montagu, Danny Hopkins, editor of Practical Classics magazine, plus special guest Jools Holland. As per tradition, the trophy was generously donated by Lolly Lee in memory of her late father and avid autojumbler, Terry Lee.

Tony said: “It’s not a business for me, it’s a hobby. I enjoy coming and meeting everyone, and every year it’s familiar faces, lovely people and a good atmosphere.”

A new addition to the event, the Vintage Market drew a diverse crowd of visitors. Its bustling stalls offered thrifty shoppers a wide array of finds, from clothing, jewellery, and collectibles to posters, vinyl, homeware, furniture and toys. Live music provided the perfect soundtrack with Harriet Jane’s soft jazz and light swing on both days, Beau Norton performing hits from the ‘30s to ‘60s on Saturday, and Retro Grooves spinning classic vinyl favourites on Sunday.

Visitors joined in the fun by dressing in their finest vintage outfits for the Best Dressed Competition, with prizes awarded on both days of the event for best dressed individual and best dressed couple or group. The awards were presented by YouTuber Steph Hoy, known as ‘I Drive a Classic’, who is well known for her passion for classic motoring and vintage fashion. The Best Vintage Stand Award was also presented on Saturday, with Teri England’s stand, Teri England Attire, taking the honour for its eye-catching display of 1960s-inspired clothing and accessories.

Another new addition saw a stunning showcase of classic vehicles in the Classic Car Park. All makes, models and conditions of pre-2000 vehicles were invited to take part, making for a varied line-up. A Show Favourite was chosen on both days of the event, with Chief Executive of the National Motor Museum, Dr Jon Murden, presenting trophies to the winners. On Saturday, Christopher Joyce won with their 1956 Daimler Conquest Century, while Sunday’s winner was Stephen Vardy with their 1975 NSU.

Classic Car Park

Over 200 Morris Minors and classic cars gathered with the Dorset branch of the Morris Minor Owners Club for MoggyFest and Friends, creating a weekend full of nostalgia. The display marked two special milestones: 70 years of the iconic ‘Minor 1000’ and 50 years of the club itself. Throughout the weekend, visitors enjoyed Open Mic Sessions hosted by the club, featuring well-known faces from the motoring world, including YouTuber Steph Hoy and motoring journalist Kim Henson, creator of ‘Wheels Alive’.

The Spring Autojumble also featured a cheerful celebration of classic caravanning, with a colourful Retro Caravan Display featuring 1950s to 1980s caravans from the Retro Camping Club, marking its tenth anniversary, alongside a display from the National Motor Museum, which celebrated 20 years of being home to the Caravan and Motorhome Club Collection. The display also featured some remarkable custom caravans from Curious Caravans, who transform derelict caravans into imaginative mobile entertainment. Visitors were able to explore their retro arcade on wheels and unique Pop-Up Karaoke caravan.

The Automart offered car enthusiasts the chance to find everything from pre-loved restoration projects to ready-to-drive dream cars. With vehicles ranging from a classic Ford Thunderbird to a modern Jaguar F-Type, there was something to appeal to every motoring taste.

As always, Sunday saw the addition of two much-loved features. Trunk Traders was an opportunity for amateur autojumblers to clear out their garages for the chance to sell their motoring wares from the boot of their car. Meanwhile, the Land Rover Rummage drew Land Rover enthusiasts from far and wide to trade spare parts all in one convenient location and catch up with fellow enthusiasts.
