BELINDA, LADY MONTAGU
Mother of the present Lord Montagu, Belinda grew-up in the nearby Cadland Estate and trained as an artist. After marrying Edward 3rd Baron Montagu she applied her skills to the fast-developing Beaulieu attraction, a legacy which endures in Palace House to this day, particularly through her embroidery.

A compilation of old family recipes and remedies discovered in the family archives by Belinda, Lady Montagu. The book majors on uses to which locally grown ingredients might be put, with recipes for dishes that have completely disappeared from the table of today, such as Viper Broth and Oyster Sausages. JOHN, 2ND LORD MONTAGU OF BEAULIEU
John Montagu (1866-1929), was a prominent figure in the early days of motoring. He was a political figure, a soldier, and a passionate promoter of the motor car. He is best known for his contributions to the development of motoring in Britain, including driving the first car into the yard of the Houses of Parliament. The first motor museum at Beaulieu was founded as a tribute to his achievements.
