BEaulieu grounds and gardens

Also available as a location are the grounds and gardens of Palace House which feature the formal ornamental kitchen and Victorian flower gardens as well as the contrasting natural wilderness garden. The Mill Pond Walk is a tree-canopied riverside path along the banks of the Beaulieu River.

Beaulieu River

Beaulieu Estate

The wider estate includes the Beaulieu River, one of the few privately owned rivers in the world, the custodianship of the Montagu family has kept it a special place. Meandering out through the salt marshes seems a million miles from the busy Solent, with wooded banks which are home to wildlife, whilst Buckler’s Hard Yacht Harbour has more modern facilities.

Buckler's Hard

Buckler’s Hard historic village, on the banks of the river is an unspoilt haven untouched by time. The once thriving shipbuilding village, where ships for Nelson’s fleet at Trafalgar were built, is lined with original 18th century shipbuilders’ cottages.
