Inspired by the National Motor Museum's dazzling new display, The Luxury of Motoring, visitors were invited to enjoy a taste of the finer things in life.
We discovered what life was like for those at the top, then took a peek 'below stairs' to see how their chauffeurs, maids and cooks lived.
Visitors picked up their Hands-On Half-Term Pass Book and collected a stamp from each of the activity stations.
Designed our own Mascot
We took inspiration from the glittering display of Lalique car mascots in The Luxury of Motoring to create our own mascot design.
struck a pose
Visitors draped themselves in luxurious fabric to recreate the iconic pose of the Rolls-Royce Spirit of Ecstasy.
Made a Top Hat
Rumour has it that one of the earliest top hats nearly caused a riot when it was first worn in public. We created a stir by making our very own top hats to take home.
Handled Historic motoring objects
We got hands on an array of motoring artefacts.
Met Lord Montagu's Chauffeur
Lord Montagu's chauffeur had so many tales to tell! We chatted to Mr Stephens about life as a chauffeur to the aristocracy. Some visitors even spotted him driving around the grounds in his historic vehicle!
Visited the Victorian Kitchen
We got hands-on in Palace House's Victorian Kitchen as Lord Montagu's Cook or her Kitchen Maid prepared traditional dishes.
Became a Medieval Builder
We visited the monk in Beaulieu Abbey to pick up some medieval building tips and learnt how to make an arch.
Dressed As A monk
Visitors even tried on a monk's habit in Beaulieu Abbey!
Culinary Touch Experience
We took a pit stop in the Brabazon restaurant and put our hands in each mystery box to guess what food ingredients were inside.

Had a brilliant day out here during half term. Lots to see and do. The museum was really good, but also there is so much to do outside.
