THE LIBRARY OF MOTORING
The National Motor Museum Trust not only helps to collect and preserve a large collection of
motor vehicles and memorabilia it also aims to provide full research, information, picture and
film and video services to both the professional and amateur motoring enthusiast and its material
represents some of the finest collections of their type in the world.
The Library Services comprises three main sections : the Reference Library,
consisting of a vast collection of books, magazines, periodicals, catalogues and manuals; the
Motoring Picture Library, one of the largest motoring picture collections in the world, and the
Film and Video Library, which preserves and restores all kinds of motoring film. In addition,
the National Motor Museum Trust houses the Shell Art Collection, perhaps the most extraordinary
collection of commercial art in Britain today.
The Library Services are accessed constantly by a wide range of users, including television
companies, newspapers and magazines from all over the world.
