Beaulieu Abbey

This 800-year-old abbey was founded by King John in the 13th century before being destroyed on the orders of King Henry VIII in 1538.

The abbey is now part of the Beaulieu attraction with its serene Cloister, historic Domus, herb garden and exhibition about the life of its Cistercian monk founders.
