Golden Oldies display for Beaulieu’s International Autojumble

Beaulieu is inviting owners of pre-1970 classic and vintage cars to take part in a Beaulieu’s Golden Oldies display at International Autojumble in the grounds of the National Motor Museum on September 7th & 8th.

From Bristols and Borgwards, through Panhards and Plymouths, Standards and Saabs to Triumphs and Trojans, all manner of pre-booked machines dating from the early days of motoring to 1969 are welcome to drive into the show. As well as taking part in the display, their owners can enjoy a complimentary weekend of bargain-hunting among the 2,000-plus stands at the event.

Beaulieu’s Events Manager Judith Maddox said: “Beaulieu’s Golden Oldies is a brand new feature for 2019 and will celebrate the cars from the golden era of motoring that are truly at the heart of International Autojumble. These older machines are a big part of the show’s heritage and we are expecting an eclectic mix of cars to join us for the weekend.”

Owners who would like to take part in the display with their pre-1970 vehicles should get in touch with the Beaulieu events team to be considered – places are limited, so book now. Show entry is free for vehicles that are accepted, with successful owners receiving a pair of three-day entry wristbands. Click here or call 01590 614614 for details on how to apply.

For more than 50 years, International Autojumble has been an unmissable date on the classic car calendar for enthusiasts to track down elusive spare parts to keep their cars on the road. Fittingly, the show will offer a final look at Bluebell, the 1959 Standard Ten that is an automotive ambassador for the preservation of classics before she returns to Practical Classics, the event’s media sponsor. The family saloon captured the hearts of thousands who joined a campaign to save her from scrappage scheme destruction and fans can meet the Practical Classics team that saved her and chat about restoration skills and their latest vehicle projects on their event stand.

Other show features include Automart with an impressive selection of up to 200 classic cars – from immaculate examples to restoration projects. While Dealermart will feature a selection of top condition classics from traders.

Bonhams auction of collectors’ cars, motorcycles and automobilia will return on Saturday September 7th, as desirable and rare historic machines go under the hammer. Admission to the sale room is by catalogue only. To register in advance see www.bonhams.com/auctions/25455.

A Sunday highlight is Trunk Traders, as enthusiasts sell assorted motoring jumble from their garages, sheds and lofts, providing a great opportunity to find bargains.
