Steve Robinson

Sculptor Profile

Steve Robinson is a glass artist whose passion lies in the interplay of colour, transparency, and light. Drawn to the visual allure of glass, he works in a semi-abstract style, often inspired by natural forms. Oceanic themes—movement, fluidity, and the vivid hues of marine life—fuel much of his creative vision, with motifs ranging from flowing seaweed and frothy waves to coral formations and leaping fish.

Each piece of Steve’s kiln-formed glass is crafted using specialised techniques he has developed and refined over many years. Rather than working with pre-coloured glass, he applies fine enamel powders to achieve distinctive textures, blended shades, and intricate patterns that define his unique style. His signature sculptural bowls are formed in handmade moulds that are partially destroyed during the firing process and must be rebuilt for each new piece—ensuring that every bowl is one of a kind.

With over 20 years of experience running his own professional studio, Steve has built a diverse client base that includes private collectors, architects, interior designers, galleries, and retailers. His work has been commissioned by organisations such as NHS Trusts, John Lewis, and Hilton Hotels.
