Born in Birmingham in 1948, David spent his professional life in industry before moving to France, where he spent two decades developing film grip equipment and refining his 3D CAD skills.
In 2020, he returned to the UK and began creating structural artworks from stainless steel, inspired by the Golden Ratio, Fibonacci sequence, and artists such as Sempere, Alfaro, and Snelson. His work bridges engineering and art, using symmetry, proportion, and reflection to form precise, lyrical constructions. These sculptures—named for Greek figures like Nike, Hermes, and Icarus—play with light and perspective, often creating striking optical illusions. Though rooted in industrial techniques, the result is contemplative and elegant. He calls it structural art: engineered forms that invite curiosity and reward close attention.
