People’s Choice Award – Voting Details
The People’s Choice Award allows attendees, both participants and visitors, to vote for their favourite vehicle on display at the Simply event. At 2pm a prize-giving will be held on the arena for the People’s Choice Award with prizes awarded to a winner and two runners-up. By participating in the voting process, you agree to the following rules:
- Voting Period
- Voting opens at the start of the event and closes at 1pm. All votes will be counted (both online and paper votes), and the winners will be notified by a sign on their vehicle between 1:15pm and 1:30pm.
- Eligibility
- Voter Eligibility: Voting is open to all event attendees. Each person may cast 1 vote.
- Entry Eligibility: All vehicles displayed by owners arriving under valid participant tickets for the Simply event are eligible for the People’s Choice Award unless otherwise specified.
- Voting Deadline: All votes must be cast before the deadline of 1pm to be counted.
- Voting Methods
- Paper Form: Attendees can cast their votes at the designated voting station, situated at the entrance to the arena, where paper forms to complete will be available. Completed forms will need to be placed into the voting box to be counted before 1pm.
- Online Voting: Also located at the voting station are posters with a QR code to scan which will take attendees to an online form to complete their vote. These must be submitted before the voting deadline of 1pm to be eligible.
- Voting Limits
- No Multiple Voting: Each attendee may cast 1 vote. Attempting to vote multiple times beyond the allowed limit may result in disqualification.
- No Vote Manipulation: In keeping with the spirit of the event, attempts to manipulate votes is not permitted such as pre-filling voting forms for other attendees to complete or using false identities in order to cast multiple votes.
- Announcement of Winners
- Counting Votes: All votes will be counted by the events team. The top 3 vehicles with the most votes will be selected as the winner and 2 runners-up.
- Winner Notification: Winners will be notified by a sign on their vehicle by 1.30pm. Winners must be present with their vehicles by 1.45pm and will need to move their vehicle into the prize giving area. If not present after this time, the next vehicle with the most votes will be selected until an owner can be located. PA announcements may be made for specific vehicles by their registration if owners are not located by 1.45pm.
- Prize Details: The winner and 2 runners-up will receive prizes at the award presentation at 2pm on the arena. This will be announced over the PA.
- General Conditions
- Publicity Release: By participating, the owners of the vehicles in the prize giving agree to the use of their names and likenesses for promotional purposes without additional compensation. A permissions form is completed prior to the prize-giving.
