FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 

Is the performance suitable for children?

Children are very welcome to attend the performance of these two classic stories.


How long is the performance?

The performance will last approximately 2 hours including a 20-minute interval. The approximate finish time is 8.30pm.

Parking for the performance is within our event parkland adjacent to the performance area. Do not park within the main visitor car parks as these will be locked prior to the end of the performance.


Parking facilities?

All parking is free of charge and located in the event parkland. Please follow the signs for Outdoor Theatre once on site. Please note all parking is on grass.


What time can I arrive?

Arrivals for the performance is from 5.30pm with parking close to the performance area. Please note, all parking is on grass. Please do not arrive before 5.30pm as early arrivals before this time will be held in the main attraction cars parks.


Arrival via public transport?

We recommend visiting Beaulieu by car due to the limited availability of public transport to here, particularly in the evening.

Beaulieu’s postcode for your satnav is SO42 7ZN or take Junction 2 of the M27 and follow the brown and white tourist signs to Beaulieu and our visitor entrance. Once through our main entrance, please follow the signs to the performance parking area. Please do not park in the main visitor car parks as there will then be a longer walk to the performance parking area.

If arriving via taxi, the taxi is able to drop you off within the parking area for the performances rather than at our main visitor reception. Please ensure that you have booked a return taxi and arranged a pick-up point for the end of the performance in advance due to limited availability of taxis in the area.

The New Forest Tour bus  operates during that would enable you to arrive in time for the start of the performances, dropping off outside our main visitor reception. Unfortunately, no buses are in operation at the end of the performances, please ensure you have arranged a taxi in advance.


How do we visit the Beaulieu attraction before the performance?

You are welcome to visit the attraction before your performance and enjoy all of the Beaulieu attractions including the National Motor Museum, Palace House, Little Beaulieu by purchasing attraction tickets via the website.

The Beaulieu attraction will close at 6pm.

If visiting the Beaulieu attraction prior to the performances, we recommend moving your vehicle to the performance parking area at 5.30pm.


Is the performance area suitable for mobility scooters, wheelchairs and pushchairs?

Due to the performance being located outdoors, there are some accessibility challenges, but we will be able to accommodate these, please contact us before the performance via events@beaulieu.co.uk with details of any accessibility requirements.


Can I add additional tickets to my original booking?

If additional persons wish to join you for the performance since the original bookings, you can purchase additional tickets online, a separate ticket will be added.

We are unable to add additional persons to existing bookings once a booking has been made.


Can I turn up and buy tickets on the day?

Yes – tickets will remain on sale online on the day of the performances and will also be available for sale on the gate from the ticket office gazebo.


Can I book my tickets over the telephone?

Yes – please phone us on 01590 614614 to purchase tickets over the phone. A £2 postage fee applies.

Phone bookings are issued as physical tickets, we are unable to issue e-tickets from phone purchases.

Bookings made in the week of the performances will not be posted but will be held for collection on arrival.


Will the performance go ahead if it’s raining?

The performance is open air and will go ahead regardless of the weather, unless such weather proves to be too hazardous. We do recommend that you dress appropriately for the potential inclement British weather!

If bringing umbrellas, these will need to come down for when the performance starts.

If it is raining and the rain becomes too heavy during the performance, it will be paused in hopes that the weather improves.

If the weather becomes dangerous (i.e. high winds or lightning), the performance will stop until such time as conditions improve.

In the unlikely event of a cancellation to performances, all ticket holders will be contacted as soon as possible. In first instance we would look to rearrange the performances.


Will any seating be available or can I bring my own seat?

You are welcome to bring your own seating from picnic rugs/blankets to low backed picnic chairs. No seating will be provided.

We do ask that you do not bring picnic tables due to space limitations or seating that will obscure the view for other visitors.


Will there be anywhere to buy refreshments before the performance starts?

There will not be catering available to purchase before or during the performances, but visitors are invited to bring their own picnic to enjoy in the performance area prior to and during the performances. Alcohol for personal consumption on site is permitted.


Will there be toilet facilities available?

Yes, there are both ladies, gents and one unisex accessible toilet with baby change facilities available which will be open for the duration of the performances.


As the performance is outdoors, can I bring my dog?

Dogs are welcome at the performances, but we do ask that they are well-behaved and kept on a lead at all times and that you are considerate of both the performers and other visitors. Please ensure any mess is cleared up and deposited in the bins.


Can I use my Beaulieu annual pass to attend the show?

This is a separately charged for event and is therefore not covered by the Beaulieu annual pass. We hope that you will still consider attending and supporting the performance.


I am a Friend of the National Motor Museum, is attendance of this show included in my membership?

This is a separately charged for event and is therefore not covered by the Friends of the National Motor Museum Trust membership.  We hope that you will still consider attending and supporting the performance.


I am a Beaulieu 100 member, is attendance of this show included in my membership?

This is a separately charged for event and is therefore not covered by your Beaulieu 100 membership. We hope that you will still consider attending and supporting the performance.


Does my Beaulieu resident pass gain me entry to this show?

This is a separately charged for event and is therefore not covered by the Beaulieu resident pass. We hope that you will still consider attending and supporting the performance.
