Organisation & Management
This Information Sheet covers two main topics. Firstly, it outlines the relationship between the organisations operating within the boundaries of the Beaulieu Estate. Secondly, it delineates the management structure within Montagu Ventures Limited, the leisure management company.
- Montagu Ventures Limited is the major income earning company. Most visitor income is received by this Company, either directly or indirectly.
- Montagu Ventures is responsible for all of the principal historic structures on the Estate, which are leased to the company. The costs of repair and restoration are met from visitor income.
- The Beaulieu Estate benefits from the visitor business through the receipt of rents for properties which it leases to Montagu Ventures.
- Catering is run by a concessionaire, responsible for all catering outlets at both Beaulieu and Buckler's Hard. A proportion of the income from catering is remitted to Montagu Ventures Limited.
- The National Motor Museum Trust is an independent charity. It derives its income from two sources; a proportion of the gate receipts and sponsorship, covenants and donations from industry and other sources. The Trust has a Director, Curator and specialist staff who provide Library, Research and Educational services related to the History of motoring. Montagu Ventures Ltd is responsible for all 'front of house' services in providing for public access to the Museum.
- Beaulieu River Management derives income from the letting of berths and from mooring fees. Once again, a proportion of this income is paid to the Beaulieu Estate as rental for facilities leased.
- The Countryside Education Trust operates on the rural areas of the Estate and benefits from free access to Estate lands.
- All these organisations, except for the catering concessionaires, are served by a centralised accounts department.
